University Ward Councillor Diane Hume criticises the Labour governments sell off of the Blackdale School playing fields.

Evening News Letters,

The decision by the Labour Secretary of State to allow the sale of the playing fields at Blackdale to go ahead shows this governments hypocrisy.

They say they are concerned with the nation's obesity crisis especially in young people and they stress the need for more sporting opportunities and yet they allow playing fields which could have been used by the community to be sold and lost forever. These were community facilities and I am very unhappy and disappointed for local residents. The playing fields should have been kept for school sports and community use not sold off against local residents wishes.

The Labour Party has let the people of University Ward down.
